More organizations these days are looking to develop a digital strategy around wearables, the latest hot trend in the tech world. Two weeks ago, BMW was hosting an event focusing on innovation, mobility and wearables. The networking event included demo presentations and gathered over 250 guests and entrepreneurs at the BMW Welt.
It’s not a surprise to see BMW organizing such an event. The company is clearly investing in mobility and ConnectDrive. Last September, BMW also confirmed the integration of bimmer-centric features on the AppleWatch. The product will let users monitor heating and air-conditioning as well as remotely unlocking the car. The AppleWatch can also help locate vehicles if they are parked in a crowded lot. Finally, the watch will provide real-time information on the battery charge level in a BMW i3 or i8 plug-in vehicle.
