Happy Birthday, iPhone!

“We’re gonna make some history today,” Steve Jobs

Eight years ago, on January 9 2007, Steve Jobs announced the iPhone – the first ever smartphone from Apple. The iPhone totally changed our perspectives towards smartphones. It changed everything. History was made.

The iPhone back then was pitched as three devices in one: a “widescreen iPod with touch controls”, a “revolutionary mobile phone” and a “breakthrough Internet communicator”. It didn’t even have the App Store.

As skepticism grows ahead of the release of the Apple Watch, keep the original limitations of the iPhone in mind. Don’t judge too quickly. Products will improve over time.
