While more commercial airlines are handing out smartphones or tablets to their crews, aviation company Honeywell Aerospace introduces a new type of on-board display technologies for flight attendants: Google Glass.
With Glass, attendants can view and control cabin information such as air conditioning, lighting and raising window shades. Google Glass becomes an all-in-one digital hands-free remote control with an ever-present information display. The eyewear also displays information about each of the private flight’s passengers.
For now, Google Glass is being made available for private or business flights only but Honeywell considers the possibility for the technology to extend its use with pilots, ground crew and even passengers on commercial flights.
