For the Connected World

The Connected Object At MoMA R&D

Part internal think tank and part external incubator, MoMA R&D provides information and critical tools to explore new directions and opportunities both for the Museum of Modern Art and the world of cultural institutions at large. Its scope ranges from high to low technology; from physical to digital; and from display to participation.

In this series dedicated to the connected object, Paola Antonelli, Director of R&D and Senior Curator of Architecture and Design, MoMA, delved into the Internet of Things. From the first smart consumer devices to the Industrial Internet, Antonelli introduces the myriad uses and accompanying anxieties surrounding the burgeoning field of the Internet of Things.
